We went to see our good friends Simon and Steffi Merget at their home in Aschaffenberg, Germany on Valentine's Day. Aschaffenberg is in Bavaria. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed a lot of Steffi's delicious cooking, including a tradional Bavarian breakfast of Weiss Wurst (white sausage) pretzels and sweet mustard, German mole cake (chocolate, cream and cherries), salad, three different pastas, homemade mango and strawberry ice cream, and a cheese platter that represented great cheeses from all over Europe! It was a feast and Randy and I were very full at the end of the day. To say the least, we got very spoiled and had a perfect day with our friends. It was actually very snowy there, which was great because we don't get hardly any snow in Frankfurt. We took a nice walk in a park and saw beautiful views of the Aschaffenberg castle. Here are some pictures from our week.

Samuel in his crib.

Wearing his firefighter sleeper and giving a big smile.

Samuel got this outfit from his Aunt Sandy Slaton,
who is a firefighter.

Serious Samuel

Tummy time on our sofa in his froggy and fish outfit.

Looking at the camera!

Getting dried off after bathtime by Randy.

Wearing a shirt that couldn't be more true - Samuel
can be extremely loud! He got this from his Aunt Candice
and Uncle Aaron for Christmas after they witnessed his screaming. :-)

This picture of Samuel was taken by Simon at their home in
Aschaffenberg.

Me, Randy and Samuel on our walk in Aschaffenberg.

Our good friends Steffi and Simon.

Simon, Randy and Samuel in the park - three handsome men

Our family enjoying the snow and beautiful scenes.

This is taken on a little bridge in the park over looking
the frozen lake - beautiful!

A view of the Aschaffenberg Castle.

Steffi and I pose for quick picture.

Simon is a great musician and Samuel got to see his
first guitar - he loved it!

Samuel playing the guitar, and it didn't sound bad!
Maybe he will play the guitar someday; he has really long
fingers that would be great for guitar playing.

Samuel sitting in a highchair for the very first time.
He didn't eat any food in the highchair, but he did
chew on his toys!

Samuel in his "I'm Irresistible" Valentine's outfit from
Grandma Carol and Grandpa Jim. He also got a little
Valentine's puppy from Aunt Candice, Uncle Aaron, AJ and Luca.

Our irresistible cutie!

Here he is lodging on the sofa in an outfit from Grandma Kellie
and Grandpa Jim.

Samuel is giving his mommy some looks.

What a happy little guy - check out his dimple.

More smiles. :-)
