May! Our last month in Germany!

We have had a lot of fun this month, and it will only continue when we leave for Paris on the 21st and then fly home to Grand Haven on May 30. We can't believe our time here is up, but we are happy because we are ready to go home. We have had a great time living in Europe for a year, but we miss our family and friends, our house, our cats and our cars. We will be glad to be home for good.

This month we took a day trip to Rudesheim, Germany with our good friends Simon and Steffi Merget. We had a great time, and it was nice to spend extra time with them before we leave. We will miss them a lot, but we are very grateful for the great friendships we have made living here.

This weekend, May 16-17, we spent our last weekend in Frankfurt. We went downtown and took in the sites for the last time. Next weekend we will be in Paris, and then six days after that, we are home! Here are some pictures from our last few weeks.

Look at how tough I can look.

Samuel loves playing in front of the mirror! He was putting
his head to the mirror and making a hugging motion, but when
I got out the camera he was more interested in that. Here is a short
video of him looking at himself (and at me) in front of the mirror.

We stopped at a beer garden to have a drink
